Unlike the gas or electricity industries, there is currently no legal minimum qualification requirements for service providers in the fire industry. However, to protect customers there are now a number of approved contractor schemes designed to help building owners and managers ensure quality compliance in fire safety products and services.
As well as LTM being BAFE accredited for the SP205 Life Fire Safety Risk Assessment scheme, our fire risk assessors are all registered on the Tier 3 level of the Nationally Accredited Fire Risk Assessors Register (NAFRAR). The Tier 3 level of NFRAR is exclusively for individuals who are able to carry Fire Risk Assessments on high risk and complex buildings. They have registered through a process that recognises their achievement at the highest available standards for fire risk assessors. Their experience and competency has been successfully examined and tested by an independent third party accreditation / certification scheme.

Our fire risk assessors are all individually members of the Fire Protection Association and have successfully completed the Confederation of Fire Protection Associations Europe Diploma in Fire Prevention and are granted permission to use the CFPA-E Dip.

BAFE SP205 CERTIFIED
BAFE manage and maintain the BAFE SP205 scheme covering Fire Risk Assessment deliver to ensure quality and competence of fire risk assessors. To successfully gain Third-Party Certification to this Scheme, fire risk assessors must provide robust evidence that they can deliver this service competently.
All fire risk assessments performed under the BAFE SP205 Scheme are checked and signed off by a designated Validator within the Third Party Certificated organization. This process allows for a thorough check of the work undertaken before it is provided to the end-user/client.

The British Fire Consortium
The British Fire Consortium is committed to delivering the very best in training and support for companies offering fire safety.
Comprising one of the UK’s largest fire protection and fire safety consultative groups, the BFC members are committed to providing impartial advice, with complete openness and fairness in their business dealings, and maintain the highest standards of commercial conduct with their customers and suppliers.

National Security Inspectorate (NSI Silver)
A not-for-profit organisation helping to protect homeowners, businesses, the public sector and the general publich, the National Security Inspectorate is the UK’s premier independent, UKAS-accredited certification body in the security and fire safety sector.
LTM is pround to be certified by the NSI demonstrating that we are a trusted service provider that operates in accordance with recognised industry standards. Our skilled and expericed technically team’s core competency includes working to International and British Standards and NSI Codes of Practice. LTM is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and security for buyers of commercial and domestic fire and security systems.

The Institute of Fire Safety Managers
The Institute of Fire Safety Managers is a professional body promoting fire prevention, fire protection and reducing the risk from fire.
LTM is proud to be an affiliated member of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM) and all risk assessors are also Members of the IFSM too (MIFSM).

Institution of Fire Safety Engineers
The Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) is a global professional membership body for those in the fire sector that seek to increase their knowledge, professional recognition and understanding of fire through a global discourse. With over 100 years of history, the IFE is instrumental in shaping a future world that is safer from fire. LTM’s fire risk assessors are all recognised as Associate Members of the IFE (AIFireE).
